Lesson-Plan-1-LA-grade-5-EDTL

Dialogue in novels is critical to engage the reader but also convey information and progress a story. I taught this dialogue lesson in a grade 5 classroom. The lesson was well received with some memorable moments, and some moments of inspiration for myself and some of the students. It was during this lesson I learned the importance of being very intentional and specific when giving instruction to students. Having the attention of the class is not enough when giving instruction. Giving instructions 2 or 3 times may be necessary for students to fully understand and get the most out of an activity.
