The Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action to me is an important step towards moving forward as a country. The TRC calls to action are a pro active positive mindset approach that began with acknowledging the atrocities that occurred to indigenous all across Canada. The acknowledgement of wrongs and proactive steps to move forward seem to be a part of human evolution in general. There are seemingly no countries in the world that do not have a violent past where groups were marginalized. The mal treatment of indigenous populations in general is something that has occurred around the world, with many countries in the midst of a similar path in reconciling past atrocities. A reminder that we are all connected.
